It was a windy yet sunny day. I was waiting for someone to spend my half weekend, before I had to go to work. I got my afternoon shift to work in a book shop. I was waiting in Potters Fields Park.
Before I went to the park, I got a bit confused to choose what I wore that day because I thought that day was going to be my unforgettable day. I decided to wear a T-Shirt, a blue flannel shirt, a blue jeans and my flat shoes. I didn't really wear a uniform while I was working so that was why I wore clothes which I was going to wear to my work as well. This day was going to be big.
I finally decided to reveal something.
While I was thinking, somebody called my name and I immediately turned around my body.
"Viona! Hey, sorry. I was late. I bought something for my Mom first. I'll go to her place, tomorrow." The guy who was standing in front of me was wearing a black cap, a yellow jacket, and white T-Shirt. He was currently in love in wearing his black vans shoes.
"Dan! Hi!" We shared handshake because it was unusual for us to hug each other.
"Have you been waiting so long?"
"No. Don't worry. I have just come." I explained. He shared smile.
"Great! So..." He wondered about what we were going to do for the day.
"Well, I was going to ask you to go around London, by Underground. We will stop in an ice cream shop and that's it."
Dan smirked. He also narrowed his eyes.
"I know. I will tell you about some things in a place that we find peaceful. Near my workplace."
Dan nodded but we both immediately turned around as some people called his name,
"Dan Smith, aren't you?" A woman in her 20s greeted him. He looked confused as he realised that it was his fans standing there.
"Yes, true." Dan answered nervously.
"Would you mind signing my cassette?"
"Not at all." As Dan answered the woman and two of her friends took out three cassettes of Bastille. I could see they were Other People's Heartache Part III, All This Bad Blood, and Give Me The Future. I could see Dan smiled while meeting his fans. He always loved that. I saw it and heard from an interview. He was quite busy and we rarely met. We used to hangout together whenever he didn't have any tour schedule.
"Thank you!" Exclaimed a woman with blonde hair. They both permitted to leave and Dan faced me nervously. He always held his nape. He then managed his cap which was totally in a good position.
"Shall we?" Without having a long conversation which made him more nervous, I started the journey before revealing.
**
Dan and I were standing in front of the cashier bar. We were staring at the menu which was put on the top of the cashier bar. We looked through the menu.
"I think I want to have Strawberry ice cream." I informed.
"Hmm, I guess I want to have chocolate, with sprinkle on it."
"Shall we take them out?" I asked, "I mean... I told you that I was gonna show you a peaceful place I meant." I continued.
Dan just nodded, "Yes, we shall." We then ordered the ice cream. There was no long line that afternoon, and I almost reached my work time.
We got our ice cream and we walked through the crowd and we reached the place I meant.
"Here we are. I bet you knew, the Girdlestone Park." We both smiled and looked at Dan for a while.
"No, I don't know. I mean I maybe know, but I forgot. I have just known the name from you."
"Great! Doesn't matter if you knew, or know. Let's go have some good time here." I smiled and asked Dan to follow me. We crossed the road and looked for a bench. I found a bench which was not too far from the entry. I sat there immediately and Dan joined me.
We enjoyed our ice cream, mostly in silence. I got confused on what kind of conversation starter that I would like to have with Dan. He seemed to be enjoying his ice cream and time. I believed he didn't have much time to enjoy it while he was on tour.
"So..." I started the talk, finally, "As I told you on text, that I was going to tell you about some things."
It was silent between us. I looked around and I couldn't even find a person in the park.
"What's up?" Dan asked as he followed my gesture.
"No. It was just weird this place was so quiet." I answered nervously. I managed my hair and sat as relax as I could.
"Do you still remember the first time we met?"
He stayed silent.
I started to explain, "I remember you text me because I was a person who worked at one of your concert, but then I was assigned to continue the job for UK tour. I was confused why such a famous vocalist text me,
"But then, as you turned as the famous band, you got lots of tours, and you often go abroad, the texting was not continued. We went out for some couple times. Those were great time. I was blessed." I finished.
I still saw him looked through the park. He didn't want to start any conversation or reply what I said.
"But then, as what some people said to me. The feeling grows. I have no idea, I sometimes think about you, I am afraid to judge it as a yearn. I try to enjoy, especially when there is no text from you,"
I sighed. I guessed this was the right time.
"I like you, Dan. I like you in a very special way." I looked at him and he looked at the ground. He then turned his face.
There was a long pause and he shook his head. He looked at the ground again and looked at me.
"I know you may be confused." I replied for his gestures.
"I just... have no idea what to say. What do you mean?" He finally replied and responsed.
"It is okay if you don't say anything or reply towards what I said. I just meant that I just... want you to know and I am going to be in peace when I am able to share this feeling."
A silent. Again.
"Look, Viona. I..."
"It's okay, Dan. You don't have to reply now. I believe that... you don't feel good about it. Perhaps. And..."
"And?" Dan looked at me.
"You are still going to be with someone else because you deserve someone better."
Dan sighed and so did I. We started at each other. I turned my face to see that the Park now which had been visited by some people. The clock showed it was 1 p.m.
"We had better go. I have to work. Thank you for your time!" I smiled and replied excitedly. Dan was quite, and he did not say anything. We walked in silence and we just talked when we needed to talk. I arrived at my work place and I stood in front of the book shop.
"It was so nice to finally meet you, again. I may... not see you again. So, have a great life, Dan! Bye!"
The closing statement which I gave was accepted in silence again. Dan did not say anything and we even did not send any text message anymore.
